A member asked:

Is it possible to contract aids from someone who has never been sexually active?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: Aids is caused by HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). This virus can be spread by sexual contact. The virus can also be spread by sharing needles (injection drug use) and less commonly by receiving blood products tainted with hiv. The virus can also be spread from an infected mother to infant at delivery or in breast milk. These are some ways a person who has never had sex could get hiv.
