A doctor has provided 1 answer

Asthma : Asthma is a disease of chronic inflammation of the airways. It can be controlled with daily medications that reduce the inflammation. Occasionally, asthma symptoms which can vary from cough, shortness of breath, chest pain will become severe and require aggressive management. Higher-dose systemic (oral or iv) steroids are needed to suppress the inflammation which can last days-weeks.
