what exactly does it mean for a cyst to be found on ovary, how is it treated?

Dr. David Dang
13 years experience Radiology
See below: Ovarian cysts are common. Many women are not symptomatic from the cysts. Many cysts resolve on their own. Treatment options may include watchful waiting, birth control pills and or surgery, depending on the symptoms, severity of symptoms and appearnces of the cyst on ultrasound or if the cyst has been growing or persisting over a few menstrual cycles.
