Both: It's normal for a woman to have a small cysts, even several small cysts every month. By small i mean 1-2 cm. When a cyst gets bigger than 3cm, then a woman may or may not notice that the cyst is there. Cysts form as a fluid collection, just water, in a follicle where an egg once was. That's the most common type of cyst. Cysts can also form when a blood vessel breaks, causing a hemorrhagic.
