A member asked:

Please explain what does it mean if you have cysts on your ovaries?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Immature eggs: The vast majority of ovarian cysts are simply immature eggs that may or may not proceed to ovulation. Since normally only one egg manages this each month, nearly all of these cysts will eventually collapse and be reabsorbed. Before menopause cysts are completely normal. After menopause they need to be monitored.
