My friends's gerd is going from bad to worse. what can he do for relief?

Medication: There are some easy solutions to help with gerd. If your friend is not on medication, they can try any over the counter meds to decrease acid. Also, the 3 common causes of gerd are caffiene, alcohol and nicotine. Try to eat early, and avoid coffee, alcohol and cigarettes. You could also elevate the head of the bed 4 inches. If nothing helps your friend, they should see a gastroenterologist.
