Geneticists: The specialty of genetics is quite broad. Within this category there are specialists on both the clinical and research side who research genetic disorders. Clinical geneticists (mds) usually finish subspecialty training in genetics. Phd geneticists have numerous training options. In addition, genetic counselors are also involved in researching genetic disorders.
