Be aware of fat: Eat less fried and fatty foods. Increase your consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, eat lean meats and low fat diary products. Instead of whole milk, chose skim milk and low fat cheeses. Read labels and choose products that are less than 30% of the calories as fat, especially saturated fats.

Depends: Low fat diets are unhealthy if the fats are replaced by carbohydrates. However, in the presence of coronary artery disease, diets that limit saturated and trans fats have been found to be beneficial. Nonetheless, don't use simple carbs in their pka e use plant based proteins with some wild fish such as salmon for healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

Saturated fats: Avoid fried foods and fast foods since they are mostly saturated fats. Increase your fruit and vegetable consumption because they are fat free (except for an avocado which is unsaturated fat). Try to have skim and low fat dairy product ( they are also saturated fats. Look for mono and polyunsaturated fats. Avoid any food in which the nutritional label has more than 30% of the calories from fat.

Depends: low fat doesn't necessarily mean low calorie. In order to lose weight- your intake in calories must be less than your expenditure- Activity- helps with losing weight- cause it raises your metabolism and burns calories in the process. Consult a dietician to devise a plan if youre interested in a low fat diet.
