Anxiety treatment: Lorazepam (ativan) is often given for occasional use for extreme anxiety or panic attacks, but it does not actually fix the problem. Seek a therapist specializing in anxiety disorders. Possible side effects of Lorazepam include drowsiness, impairment of driving or use of other equipment, or addiction. It is like alcohol in pill form & works on the same brain receptors. Do not mix w alcohol because.
