Anxiety: Ativan is an anxiolytic medication. It can lead to tolerance over time. I recommend trying non-pharmacological options like psychotherapy, meditation, breathing exercises, acupuncture, etc . I often prescribe selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or buspar (buspirone) before going to benzodiazapines. Take care
