Why is it that both remembering your dreams and forgetting them are results of stress?

Keep dreaming: Dreaming is the brain's way of working out issues while the rest of the body is at rest. When we are awake the brain is so busy responding to external, and internal stimuli, it hasn't time to deal with "unfinished business". In many ways, dreaming can reduce stress. Keep a dream journal by your bed. Record as soon as you awake. The result may be a pleasant surprise!

Agree w' Dr Eisen: We remember dreams to help us cope with the stresses in our lives when we are awake. We forget them if our unconscious mind feels we are not ready to cope with them in the conscious state yet. The unconscious mind is a protective mechanism which is fascinating. Dreams are a window into our unconscious minds.
