Here is the formula.: Walking for one mile can burn about 70-80 calories. So you will need to walk about 2-3 miles daily, for 5 days of each week to lose one pound of weight in 3-4 weeks time. This is a comfortable way of doing it. If you run or jog, you can burn more fat depending on the speed and duration of exercise. But you have to work hard to lose a pound of fat from yr body. But it can be done with persistence!
