It doesn't: I wouldn't think of a detox or cleanse as a way to lose weight in a healthy way. The 'detox' uses the idea that your body is full of toxins when in fact your organs are responsible for eliminating extraneous substances. If you go on any deprivation diet, you will probably lose a little weight, just because you are restricting calories. It is very likely you will regain this weight.
