Support: Whether you are on your side, back or stomach, you must have the proper support. If your back is not properly aligned, you will cause stress. If it is aligned you will be happier in the morning. There are many brands of mattress that advertise this alignment, you could find the one that fits your body the best.

In general-: Sleeping on your back can aid the head ; spine to maintain a neutral position. The next best is sleeping on the side. Sleeping on your stomach usually requires you to have your head turned to the side for hours ; makes it difficult to keep the spine in a neutral position. It also puts pressure on joints ; muscles. Sleeping in the fetal position is not ideal. Different sleep positions are better.
