Why avoid coffee?: There is no need for people on a diet to avoid coffee. The caffeine can suppress appetite and stimulate metabolism. You might not want to add much cream or sugar. Black coffee has about 2 calories per cup. Organic is the healthiest. Consider stevia as a safe non-caloric sweetener. Of course tea, either herbal, green or black and water are good alternatives.
