Depends: There are many types of massage for whole body relaxation. If you actually have muscle knots, neuromuscular massage is very helpful. If you are always getting knots in the same places (from repetive motion) a pt can give you a strengthening/stretching regimen to prevent recurrence. For really persistent knots, trigger point injections from a physiatrist or acupuncture can be helpful.
