Anti inflamitory: Pain killers themselves may mask your pain but you need NSAID that is strong enough to reduce the joint inflammation and possible steroid injection. Then medication to control the uric acid.

Colchicine: Colchicine is till the best treatment for acute gout attacks. They get on a pill to block uric acid formation such a Allopurinol to keep the urates from forming tophi. Watch the diet to avoid beer , wine and all hard liquors except vodka , gin or silver tequila
