A member asked:

I had an echocardiogram done recently, and the results showed that my septal wall measurement = 1.5 . is it possible that i have cardiomyopathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: But more complicated than merely a measurement. The quality of the echo image is crucial along with the rest of the cardiac findings. Then symptoms must be evaluated. This is very comprehensive and the conversation must be done with your cardiologist who has reviewed the echo. 1.5 cm is thick but must be placed in context.
