I have recently just had an echocardiogram as my brother was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. mine has come back with a 25cm2 right atrium and estimated pap as 29mmhg+rap. mild tr - does this sound like pulmonary hypertension?

Yes, you have mild pulmonary hypertension which results in mild tricuspid regurgitation and mildly enlarged right atrium.

No it usually makes no sound. It may look a bit like it. Discuss with your Echo Dr as they have seen it and can interpret it. May cases of dilated cardiomyopathy are due to unrecognized high BP. You and brother should ask about 24 hr BP studies.
