A member asked:

What does it usually mean if a teenage girl has needle-like pains in the lower part of her pelvis a week after her period? not sexually active

May need to see Dr.: If the pains are occurring 2 weeks before your next period it could be pains associated with ovulation. However, many things can cause lower abdominal pain, particularly urinary tract infections, vaginal infections and bowel problems. Write down on a calendar when you experience them next time and see if it correlates to approximately 2 weeks before your next period, if so it is likely ovulation.

Vaginal and vulvar: Pain is complex and should be evaluated by a physician if persistent. There are many possible causes and even more treatment options. First, rule out a vaginal infection like yeast.
