Yes: You did not say how old you were when you had a menstrual period for the first time. It is possible that you have PCOS. You need to see your doctor who will order an ultra sound scan of the lower abdomen and pelvis to rule out PCOS

See your doctor.: This pain can be caused by an ovarian cyst, appendicitis or other lower abdominal issues. PCOS would not be likely to cause the pain, although could cause irregular periods. You should see your doctor to be examined and may need labwork and/or an ultrasound or other radiological study.
