A member asked:

I had a mri to check on my brain more than a year ago, and was told that there was nothing wrong. but it was without contrast. is a mri without contrast reliable? as im second guessing what the doctor told me because of other things i have read?

You get the most from this site when you provide enough background information for a reasoned response. Why were you having your brain checked? Much of the function of the brain will show up on a good physical/neurologic exam. Imaging studies are only useful if they are guided by a particular reason based on history and exam. You are welcome to start over.

You provided NO information as to why you had an MRI of your brain, but it was normal over one year ago. Not clear if you are having problems, as you did not mention such. You should be reassured by your prior test results. Have NO clue why you would desire now a contrast MRI.
