A member asked:

I had a stage 1b melanoma diagnosis last year. is it best to not get pregnant whilst in a five year remission. ill be 30 when out of remission and then classed as cured hopefully?

This decision should be made with the collaboration of the oncologic surgeon who excised the melanoma and a gynecologist or obstetrician. Your melanoma was caught early and recurrence is highly unlikely. I think your prognosis is different from melanomas that develop during or immediately after becoming pregnant. I'm sure you're undergoing total body skin checks every 3-6 months.
