A member asked:

Why is a 6 year old child unlikely to get melanoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Melanoma is a form of cancer. Most cancers require multiple insults and the insults are cumulative with age. With some exceptions, children have not accumulated enough insults to their tissue to favor development of cancer. Wish you good health!
