A member asked:

How much time would it take for a person to go into remission from stage 4 metastatic melanoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several weeks: At times melanoma has been known to go into spontaneous remission. However the chemotherapeutic agents attempted to be used for control have not been too effective. Recently drugs like the antiCTLA's ( anti cytotoxic lymphocyte antigen) and the PD-1's have produced a rapid regression in metastasis that have lasted long periods of time. Newer tyrosine kinase inhibitors are adding to the results
