A member asked:

Can early melanoma or any melanoma be detected by ultrasound like if the moles on my stomach were melanoma would they have found something during my pregnancy check ups?

Ultrasound is not way to check for melanoma. If you have moles you may watch and wait. You may watch and wait. If the mole doubles in size, becomes irregular in size, shape or color, bleeds, ulcerates or develops a nodule, see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Ultrasound would not pick early melanoma stages, appearance and dynamics of lesions should trigger work up/biopsy.
