Do i need to sterilize powdered formula by heating to 158 degrees fahrenheit for a 2 month old?

The powdered formula by itself is not a risk if your preparation technique is good. If your water supply is from a reliable source, like certified city sources or bottled filtered water there is no reason to go through sterilization. If your water supply is untested from a well or other source, boil it separately & let it cool. Bottles cleaned like you would your dishes is adequate for their use.

It is best to use bottled water from the baby aisle of the store. It is not necessary to sterilize the prepared formula, but clean hands before preparation.
