A member asked:

Will my baby at 1 month be able to fight off toxoplasmosis infection or prevent serious complications with her current immune system? question is regarding postnatal exposure to toxo oocysts, not congenital (cant find any answers to this thank you)?

Dr. Jay Park answered

You raised a purely hypothetical question. In fact, young infants have no access to toxoplasma oocyte until they can crawl around and touch the contents inside litter box for cat. As far as we know, postnatal exposure doesn’t result in serious consequences in immunocompetent children.
