Taking these 2 meds together, an antihistamine & a benzodiazepine, will potentiate the sedative effects & can cause symptoms of unsteadiness & even confusion the next day. This combination is not advisable. For nonprescription meds, an antihistamine, melatonin,or Unisom. For prescription med, I favor Ambien 5 or 10 mgs
