I have a 3mm kidney stone? will this impact my kidney function and cause permanenet damage?

3 mm stone is small but the location may make a difference in its effect. It is more important to know more about the type of stone so you could take precaution to change diet to reduce chances of buildup or more stones. Kidney function is impacted by age and there is possibility the stone may also do that, depending on the location and why it was able to form.

A 3mm stone will not impact your kidney function or cause permanent damage. However it warrants a visit to a Urologist for management To find cause and followup. In the meantime pl drink plenty of water. good luck
