A relative of mine had a knee surgery just a few days ago. he is on antibiotics for 10 days. he is having diarrhea & fever. is it still possible that it might not be c.diff infection? or diarrhea or fever after antibiotics is always caused by c.diff?

It is possible it is not C.dif but he should be tested for C.dif to find out for sure if it is C.dif or not. The treatment for C.dif is usually oral Vancomycin and this works well since it is not absorbed if taken orally so it only works in the intestines and the side effects are thus minimized. If he tests negative, the diarrhea will likely resolve one the antibiotics are done. Good luck!
