I assume you're experiencing intermittent burning distress in your chest in a localized area. Has lung pathology been ruled out by chest X-Ray or CT scan? If so, I'd consider a type of intercostal neuralgia ( runs between 2 ribs) or a type of peripheral neuropathy as possible causes. A neurologist could evaluate you for this. A trial of gabapentin may then be worthwhile.
