Reduced life expectancy in prematurely born persons is because so many of them -- especially born extremely early, as you were -- have ongoing health problems, especially neurological and developmental disabilities. Those who are outwardly healthy through their childhood and teen years have normal life expectancy. Of course discuss with a doctor if you have any health problem from prematurity.
