Endometrial hyperplasia is the most common cause of increased endometrial thickness and abnormal period but uterine cancer needs to be ruled out by endometrial biopsy. Uterine polyps may also cause increased endometrial thickness. You definitely need endometrial biopsy for a definite diagnosis. Good luck.
