A member asked:

Can infectious disease doctors help with pelvic infections? i was doing research because i have had an infection and discharge since my iud removal in the spring. my gyno keeps prescribing me the same medication and its not helping?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is expected that all physicians should be able to treat pelvic infections because we are all trained to, and to seek help in consultations when we are not able to. If you need a second opinion you could ask your gynecologist to refer you to an infectious disease physician because there are situations of resistant bacteria that may need different approach to cure.
