I suffer from ibs. i always have trouble cleaning myself after a bowel movement. i use a lot of toilet paper and no matter how i clean myself, i always see stool on my toilet paper. i bleed sometimes. i do not have a bidet. please, what should i do?

There are a couple of options. You can use a wet cloth of some sort-put soap and water on it-and clean yourself with that. There are moist wioes that you can buy for this purpose as well. Using something that is wet will allow you to clean yourself. Good luck!

I agree with Dr.F. Despite advertising, toilet paper is somewhat abrasive to the anus&overly vigorous wiping can lead to slight amounts of blood on the paper. After a couple of wipes with toilet paper, switch to cleaning with warm water, pat dry & apply a soothing cream like balneol. See a proctologist as needed.
