GI Consult: Changes in mucous can be quite normal but you should visit your physician for a full exam and referral to a GI specialist who can take a careful history and do an exam. Based on your history and exam your GI doctor may want to do additional tests such as a stool culture for ova and parasites if necessary or look with a camera to assess you for any inflammatory bowel disease or colitis. Good luck.
