Once in a while i will get bad cramping but cannot have a bowel movement. after a bit i will pass a hard stool and then at least two times after that a rush of a much looser stool. is this ibs?

Is it poss to develop IBS after an open myomectomy? Had it 8 months ago. Bowel habits not the same since. GI suggested peppermint tea + probiotics but stools are still loose. Dont think Ive had a solid bowel movement since surgery?
