Not cell problem: The problem with prolonged wakefulness is that you do not get rem sleep, which allows your brain to "relax" / recuperate / regenerate, and can lead to psychological distress and dysfunction. If you are experiencing this, you should discuss with your dr or a sleep specialist for evaluation and assitance.
