I have a hiatal hernia that has pulled 50% of my stomach up through my diaphragm, it was repaired in 2018. i had a colonoscopy & egd & was told the repair had failed. what is the probability of my stomach flipping & my dying?

You don't mention your current symptoms. It would take a large portion of the stomach being trapped in your chest to cause pain or dangerous strangulation. The chances are too much tho no figures can be given. take all precautions given by your GI doc. Pl see your or a surgeon for possible re-operation. Wish you well

I have a sliding Hiatal hernia. As of late 10-15 minutes after eating I experience extreme pain in my upper stomach/diaphragm area. I thought This may be related to heart issues and took nitroglycerin. The pain subsided in 4 minutes.is this normal?
