12 year old started with dry asthma cough and progressed to mucous cough. mucous thick white and sticky and moved to nose block. ige and esonophil high. no remedies worked.could it be allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (abpa) ?

You don't mention what treatments have been administered. Mucolytics like guaifnesin, bronchodilator or corticosteroid inhalers,antibiotics? I recommend consulting a pulmonologist or an allergist with a special interest in treatment of asthmatics.

If the IgE is very elevated while not on oral steroids, please follow up with your Pediatrician. They can order an ABPA panel and Chest radiograph. Please include your medication list. An Allergy panel test, avoidance of allergic triggers such as mold is recommended. Biologic treatment is also an option. Watch for signs of shortness of breath, cough and wheezing.
