Cup your hands over your mouth and breath into them. Quickly move cupped hands to nose and breath in. No bad smell likely no bad breath assuming your ability to smell is intact. Put on mask and the breath out to someone who is not wearing a mask. No bad smell. Repeat with your mask off. No bad smell by smeller (assuming their smeller is working) no bad breath.

Brushing your teeth as you describe, every day, twice a day, you are practicing good hygiene. If you have concerns about odor, start with a fluoride mouthwash, which will help. Rarely, bad breath needs the care of your dentist.

If you brush but don't clean the 35% of tooth surface and gum tissue between your teeth, there's a good chance your gums are infected. When I was 20 if I omitted answering 35 questions on a 100 question test I would expect a failing grade, even if I got the other 65% correct. So start flossing or using WaterPik EVERY SINGLE DAY. (No, mouthwash is not a substitute for flossing). And see Dentist now
