A member asked:

Is higher cholesterol still just as dangerous if you always have great blood pressure and no diabetes? i have heard that the combination of these three together is what makes the cholesterol more of a danger.. is this true? scared to take statins?

High cholesterol by itself is a risk factor for cardiac disease, especially if the LDL is high. You can see a dietician and follow a diet to treat the cholesterol to see if this makes enough of a difference to decrease your risk along with an exercise regimen, if your doctor approves the exercise. Walking can be enough exercise to make a difference. Good luck!
