A member asked:

Is it true that during an attack of biliary colic, the gallstone temporarily blocks the bile duct before passing down on its own?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Biliary colic is a pain from a blockage/ inflammation/ stone of the gall blade, its duct, or the bile duct- whether temporary or prolonged depends on the circumstances- size of stone . degtree of blockage etc. Once the cause is treated or relieved the pain goes away
