I went to my pcp for my wellnesss exam today. i had my gallbladder removed 17 yrs ago. phantom aches for years. lately more often so he palpitated my upper right quadrant and no pain not even an ache. said im fine stress or over use. should i worry?

It is a good sign that there is nothing seriously wrong if your doctor palpated your abdomen and didn’t illicit any pain and he said your abdominal exam was benign. Was any lab work done as part of your wellness exam? If so, review those results with your doctor when available, especially liver function tests. Has the discomfort changed at all? If not, that is also reassuring. Good luck!

One possibility is that you may have some adhesions around the operative site which haven't caused severe cramping pains but milder discomfort through the years. They are not necessarily tender. Keep this in mind if you ever have a bout of severe abdominal cramps or pain especially if there's associated vomiting. An abdominal surgeon could evaluate & advise you if periodic bouts of abdominal pains
