Is varicocele surgery worth doing if it is grade 1 with no pain? but sperm count is 5mil/ml ? if the surgery is done, are there food odds to see noticeable improvements in sperm count? is another reason more likely cauaing the low sperm count?

Grade 1 varicocele is less likely the cause of low sperm count (oligospermia) so fixing it may not be helpful but it can be done if there is no other possible explanation for this condition. Diagnosis of low sperm count is made by doing at least 3 sperm counts 3 months apart. and other relavent tests before under going correction of a grade 1 varicocele. Pl see a Urologist at an academic center. good luck
