I have a scn5a genetic mutation that caused risk factors of ventricular arrhymnmia, but i have it controlled w meds now and am not exhibiting these symptoms with the meds. my dr says i need an icd for the risk, but i need a 2nd opinion. thoughts?

I assume you are under the care of an EP cardiologist. ICD is preferred but not an absolute indication if you prefer not to have it done then you can be medication(s) and monitored. Catheter ablation is also an option for VT. Good luck.
