Normal sugar: The answer to this question depends on whether a person is fasting or not. If fasting, then the blood sugar should be less than 100 to be considered totally normal. If 100-125, then the patient might have "pre-diabetes." if over 125, then the patient may have diabetes mellitus. However, medicines such as Prednisone (a steroid) can raise the blood sugar.
