I am due to have a sternotomy in a week, is it safe to have a 3 day course of prednisolone for post virus cough?

Generically, it is best to coordinate your care fully, and have the physician treating the cough contact the surgeon who is to operate next week. It may be prudent to delay the surgery if you are currently ill, and may be best to await full recovery.
