I have to take a laxative prescribed from a doctor i have started getting chest pain mostly in the left upper side and my arm feels weird it is off and on i am very backed up with stool and was wondering if the chest pain is from the pressure of gas?

You'd have to have extensive abdominal bloating from constipation & intestinal obstruction to have it cause chest discomfort, nausea or vomiting. If you have an urge to move your bowels but can't, have you tried working from below by inserting dulcolax rectal suppository or fleets enema? You may require manual disimpaction of the stool. Discuss this with your physician.
